PRODUCT OVERVIEW: Shade Sort Plus is a shade sorting system that uses automatic standard selection to achieve unprecedented speed in production shading of many colors without standard reload.
This shading system can store thousands of permanent standards. From these the operator preselects up to 20 working standards for use during a shift. The system then automatically selects the correct standard to use from this working group. You can shade reds, greens, blues, browns, etc. with only one press of the "Enter" key. No more cumbersome standard selection every time you need to change from a set of blue swatches to a set of greens.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE: The system is composed of a PC computer and Color Mate tm spectrophotometer. The Milton Roy spectrophotometer is available as sphere or 45/0, dual beam, high energy Xenon flash illumination, and 0.04 maximum CIE L* a* b* delta E long term repeatability. The instrument connects to one of the computer's serial ports.
EQUATIONS & ILLUMINANTS: Any of the following shade sorting equations can be selected: Hunter L a b, CIE L* a* b*, AATCC CMC, and others by special order. The following illuminants are available in either 2 or 10 degree configurations: D65, C, A, daylights or a variety of F fluorescents. Other sources can be loaded if needed on special order.
SYSTEM FUNCTIONALITY: Password access is available to each function. The system features ceramic tile calibration standards, automatic weekly data backup and instrument verification with a colored tile. Permanent standards are measured and stored on the computer hard drive by color number. Color tolerances are individually stored with each permanent standard. Daily shading begins with selection of a group of up to 20 working standards from among the permanent standards. The operator can add or delete from the working standards group at any time. A swatch is then placed in the spectrophotometer port and the enter key pressed. The system selects the proper standard from among the working standards, displays its color number and reports its 5-5-5 shade. If a yardage is entered before the enter key is pressed, reports of yards per day for each shade can be run. Listings of all standards with their color values and tolerances can be printed.
SEARCH OPTION: When the search option is purchased, the system will search the permanent standards file for the five closest matches to a proposed new standard. This feature can be used to minimize the matching of new shades where an acceptable shade already exists. The search can be limited by style, dye class, or customer if desirable. Close matches are listed with the color difference between the new sample and the existing shade displayed.
OTHER OPTIONS AVAILABLE: A multi-user operating system for multiple accesses to the same shading and search data. Terminals, printers, and instruments can be added to the shading computer.
Remote access via modem which will allow your salesman to type in X Y Z or L a b values and find your close existing shades.
